Dear Devotees,

Please accept my dandavat pranam. I am writing to invite all the devotees of our Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math family to participate in the annual Rainbow Gathering Prasadam Distribution Seva.

Following on from last year's huge success, this year's gathering is likely to be held in beautiful Northern California with an expected attendance in excess of 50,000. That means that literally tens of thousands of plates of Krishna Prasadam will be prepared, cooked and distributed to the thousands of people who gather at this unique event.

Not only is it a very uplifting service opportunity for the aspiring devotees, but also it offers a unique and valuable opportunity for thousands of persons who are newly introduced to Krishna Consciousness and Guru Seva to experience the association of aspiring devotees in a very powerful spiritually dynamic service environment. Anyone who is excited about sharing the practice and teachings of our Guru-varga will find this to be an outstanding experience of Krishna Consciousness on all levels. We need as many devotees as possible to come and participate in this nourishing and enlivening event. You will have your heart deeply touched and will make many new friends in the service of His Divine Grace Srila Govinda Maharaj.

Throughout each day, kids and older persons alike, approach our kitchen offering their help, and are directed to the kitchen seva, which includes cutting vegetables, rolling chapatis and making sweets. Some hearty souls enthusiastically clean the pots and cooking utensils or volunteer to haul the trash or carry bhoga.

It's extremely inspiring to see so many people come forward in a grateful mood of giving. And to witness them receive an engagement in devotional service ensuring their present and future spiritual benefit is a most significant and rewarding experience. Last year's service effort was an enormous success on many levels and was acknowledged and appreciated by the gathering elders, organizers, and the thousands who attended. Most significantly of all, it was appreciated by His Divine Grace Srila Govinda Maharaj whose gracious glance makes it all possible and truly worthwhile.

This year's Rainbow Gathering Service Opportunity will commence around June 15th and extend through July 10th. The 4th of July is usually the high point of attendance at the gathering. If you can come for the whole event that's great, but even a few days help or participation in any capacity will be much appreciated. If you are looking for a dynamic service opportunity where unlimited preaching and service engagements abound — this is it!

As Lord Krishna states in the Gita:

     ye yatha mam prapadyante, tams tathaiva bhajamy aham....

"As they all surrender to me, giving service energy... I certainly reward them accordingly."

By giving ourselves to Guru Seva we get more service energy. And service rendered at the time of great need draws the greatest mercy from Sri Guru and Sri Gauranga. Let it flow!!
